Global Aero Terminal - 5510 (GAT-5510)

Amplifying airborne broadband connectivity across networks

Viasat’s Ka-band airborne terminal has a 12 in. (30.5 cm.) parabolic antenna capable of operating on full ITU Ka-band spectrum with all polarizations. The GAT-5510 is a part of Viasat’s family of next-generation, full-ITU Ka-band terminals, enabling broadband, in-flight connectivity services for airborne operations around the globe.

The Viasat Global Aero Terminal-5510 partnered with our global Best Available Network (BAN) provides mission-critical connectivity and capabilities by enabling powerful data rates from our low SWaP Ka-band airborne terminals. Rotary-wing, fixed-wing, and UAS platforms can now stay connected and informed as their mission progresses.

This combination delivers mission-critical communications, including:

  • En route government C3 and VIP transport communications for data, VoIP, VTC, internet access, virtual collaboration, and IPTV
  • Real-time intelligence, surveillance and reconnaissance (ISR) with HD full-motion video and multi-sensor/multi-intelligence operations for instant situational awareness and decision making
